The Department of Food Science and Technology honours Prof. Ibok Oduro and Mr. John Barimah

Members of the Department of Food Science and Technology met on Wednesday, 26th April, 2023 to honour two former heads of Department.

The head of Department, Professor William Ofosu, gave a brief welcome address explaining the uniqueness  of the gathering. On behalf of the welfare committee, he congratulated Prof. Mrs. Ibok Oduro and Mr. John Barimah for their enormous and immense service to the Department and also to the University as a whole. 

Amidst cheers and applause from members of the Department, Prof. Mrs. Faustina Duffie Wireko-Manu, presented a gratitude package and an envelope to Mr. John Barimah saying, "This is the love that the Department wants to show you", while emphasising how important it was to cherish all moments with the Department. 

Amidst cheers and applause from members of the Department, The Head of Department also presented a gratitude package and an envelope to Prof. Mrs. Ibok Oduro who could not make it to the gathering. The package and envelope were recieved by Dr. Emmanuel Amankwah on her behalf.

Mr. John Barimah, in a bubbly speech on his own behalf and also on behalf of Prof. Mrs. Ibok Oduro expressed his appreciation and joy to all members of the Department for the acknowledgment while recounting how some members of the Department have been keeping in touch with him since his retirement and how exciting it was to see everybody again.

The Head of Department in his concluding remarks thanked members for their presence.
