Inaugural Lecture by Prof Ibok Oduro, FGA

The Ghana Academy of Arts and Sciences (GAAS) will host the Inaugural Lecture of Prof. (Mrs.) Ibok N. Oduro, FGA, Professor of Postharvest Technology at KNUST, on Thursday, 11 June 2026 at 5:30 PM at the Kwame Nkrumah Auditorium, GAAS, Accra .

Titled “Hidden Harvest: Reclaiming Africa’s Plate,” the lecture will explore the transformative potential of Africa’s indigenous crops and food systems in addressing food security, nutrition, and sustainability challenges. Drawing on decades of research and leadership, Prof. Oduro will highlight how science, innovation, and local knowledge can drive resilient and inclusive food systems for the future.

The event brings together academics, students, industry stakeholders, and the wider public to celebrate excellence in scholarship and the enduring impact of one of Ghana’s leading food scientists.
