Our Department sees food quality as the vital sensorial attributes whose standards are tailored to be regulated according to regulators. Our programmes are rooted in the basic sciences of food production, processing, food product development, packaging storage, and process engineering. Using all scientific tools available, we strive to ensure that the food on the table meets microbial, nutritional, and chemical safety standards to maintain healthy living.
In our Food Science and Technology programmes, we expect all graduates to have the requisite skills in search areas as; food chemistry, food microbiology, food product development and sensory evaluation, and food process engineering.
