Senior Members of the Department of Food Science and Technology met with Dr. Paul Kwadwo Addo, Deputy Registrar, Directorate of Student Affairs, KNUST, for a course outline training. This was necessary because the Department of Food Science and Technology has a strategic mandate to provide higher education for our teeming youth, train them to undertake research and communicate research findings to apply the knowledge.
Before commencing discussions, Dr. Addo expressed his excitement about the Department of Food Science and Technology being the first Department to involve part-time lecturers in such training within the university.
During the training Dr. Addo explained the importance of developing course outlines in a detailed but well structured manner to meet international standards of quality education. Using his developed template which he shared with members, he further explained in details, how the course outline should be structured while emphasising on the relevance of each sub-component. In concluding, he encouraged members to prepare their course outlines and get them ready before the beginning of each semester for its effective implementation. The part-time lecturers and other senior members who could not be physically present, joined via zoom. The Administrative secretary of the Department and her team were also present.
