FST students win Business Start-Up award at the 2024 Kosmos Innovation Center (KIC) Agritech Challenge Pro finals

Two Food Science and Technology (FST) Students with their Business Start-Up - BunnyBite Ghana Limited - have won a  Ten Thousand United States Dollars ($10,000) seed fund at the 2024 Kosmos Innovation Center (KIC) Agritech Challenge Pro finals.

They were among five (5) start-ups from KNUST that received awards. The awards were presented to the Vice-Chancellor of KNUST at the Council Chamber on 21st May 2024.

The FST recipients (Mr. Clement Frimpong, MSc FST and Shadrack Yankey, PhD student) also presented the award to the Head of Department, Prof. (Mrs.) Faustina D. Wireko-Manu. The Department of Food Science and Technology encourages students to develop product innovations and entrepreneurship.

The FST-KNUST Food Processing Unit is being used by the team for their product development. There is space to support any student/stakeholder with a start-up, even up to the commercial level.
