Welcome, First Years!!!

Success, they say, isn’t instant. Every great thing has been built exactly the same way; bit by bit, step by step, little by little. More so, the journey of a thousand miles, they say, begins only with a step.

The department congratulates you on your entry into the Premier University (KNUST) and especially to the most dynamic and vibrant department in KNUST.

We believe most of you have aspired for years to have an experience of university education. Academic work in the university is quite different and a bit tedious from the high school education; because you become more responsible for yourself and everything you do.

Therefore the advice is to take your studies seriously and pursue academic work with all seriousness and steadfastness. There will be no more morning assemblies to disseminate information as in the senior high schools. As a result, you’ll need to always read notices and always check the KNUST (www.knust.edu.gh) or department (foodscience.knust.edu.gh) websites for information.

In addition, do not forget the saying; “all work and no play...”. Please don’t forget the extra-curricular activities, because they make your education here complete and fun.

The Lecturers, Teaching and Research Assistants, Graduate Assistants and lab assistants are all available to you. We are here to help you through your 4 year journey; therefore do not hesitate to contact any of us if you have any problems.
