Course requirements

Entry Requirements

  • Candidates for admission shall be required to have a BSc. (Hons) degree in Nutrition, Biochemistry, Biology, Chemistry, Agricultural Science, Agricultural Engineering, Chemical Engineering and Natural Resources Management.
  • Higher level professional qualifications or an advanced degree and relevant work experience in food related establishment could be considered where applicants have not reached the standard entry requirements, though every applicant is assessed individually on their own merit through interview.

 

Assessment Requirements

Written examinations and projects will contribute towards the final assessment. Each individual course will be assessed through a continuous assessment and a written paper at the end of the course. Candidates who obtain a CWA of above 70 at the end of the second semester examination may apply to transfer to the more advanced MPhil/PhD programmes.

Requirements for Graduation

The minimum number of credits required for graduation is 43. A successful candidate should have passed all the core courses including seminars and thesis reports.
