How to Apply
In order to qualify to pursue a BSc degree programme in Food Science and Technology, candidates must have credits in THREE (3) Elective Subjects including; Biology, Chemistry and either Physics or Mathematics.
For High National Diploma (HND), applicants from a recognized polytechnic with Second Class (Lower Division) and above in the following programmes: Food Production, Food and Beverage, Food Science, Nutrition and Chemical Engineering may be admitted to Second Year of the Programme after a successful entrance examination.
All applicants must satisfy the university’s general admission requirements for degree programmes.
Prospective students who are interested in learning more about the food science and technology undergraduate program are encouraged to visit the department of food science and technology on the Basement of the Science Complex Block (B 15).
Mature Students:
Mature candidates have credits in FIVE (5) GCE Ordinary Level subjects in any of the following: Chemistry, Biology, Physics, Agricultural Science including English and have attained the age 25 years at the time of submitting the application. Matured candidates may be required to pass an interview. OR
Mature candidates must have credits in FIVE (5) SSSCE subjects in any of the following: Chemistry, Biology, Physics, Agricultural Science including English and have attained the age 25 years at the time of submitting
