FST receives visiting Professor from the Hungarian University of Agriculture and Life Sciences, Hungary.
Katalin Badakne-Kerti, PhD, an Associate Professor and Head of Department of Grain and Industrial Plant Processing, Hungarian University of Agriculture and Life Sciences, Hungary (MATE). with interest in baking, pasta, cereal processing, confectionery and edible fat technologies paid a visit to the Department of Food Science and Technology, KNUST within the framework of the Erasmus+ exchange mobility.
The Head of Department, Prof. Isaac W. Ofosu welcomed Prof. Badakne-Kerti to the Department and to the University while emphasising the need to continuous collaborations and strengthening out partnership. Prof. Kerti, in her remark stated that the purpose of their visit is to connect MATE’s research and educational resources and possibilities with that of KNUST, focusing on Food Science and also with other units focusing on aquaculture, plant protection, among others.
She added that the visit is to solidify possible research collaboration between the Departments of Food Science of both MATE and KNUST, with emphasis on compounds of cocoa, coffee and developing methods based on physical characteristics of raw food materials.
.Dr. John-Lewis Zinia Zaukuu, a key player in the collaborations between MATE and KNUST accompanied Prof. Kerti on tours to the four major laboratories in the Department where she interacted with laboratory personnels and students. Prof. Kerti also participated in Postgraduate seminar series organised by the Department.
